Frequency of Missing Dose of Anti-Diabetic Medications and its Impact on Blood Glucose Levels Among Patients of Diabetes Mellitus

Objective: To determine the frequency of missed medications and its association with glycemic control among patients diabetes mellitus.
 Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted at Outpatient Department Medicine, Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan, from January 2022 to June 2022. Patients type-1 or type-2 mellitus who visited outpatient department had a disease duration least six months were included in study. Participants might be either gender ranged age 18 70. Along sociodemographic information, characteristics recorded including fasting postprandial blood glucose levels, kinds DM, drugs used, family history DM. All patients' missing diabetic prescription doses also assessed.
 Results: In total 230 148 (64.3%) male. The mean 45.00±12.48 year. Family present 113 (49.1%) patients. There 215 (93.5%) type 2 DM while remaining 15 (6.5%) Mean 7.63±7.6 years. It found that 105 (45.7%) using both oral insulin. noted 30 (13.0%) their daily, 43 (18.7%) most frequently, 21 (9.1%) frequently 54 (23.5%) medications/dosages occasionally. observed statistically significant differences existed for parameters (p<0.0001).
 Conclusion: Vast majority miss anti-diabetic medications. Missed medication significantly linked higher levels.
